Introduction

INTRODUCTION

The Work Group 'Integrated Control of Plant Feeding Mites' was established to promote research and cooperation between scientists on biological and integrated control of plant feeding mites by:

supporting the implementation of these strategies in agriculture;
emphasizing the development of methods reducing the amounts of pesticides used for mite control in protected crops;
determining how to manipulate crop systems, use physical barriers and microbial control, augment predators and promote resistant crop varieties;
updating and integrating into future systems of pest control.

Group history

2006, January: the IOBC Council Meeting approved the new Study Group IOBC/WPRS "Integrated Control of Plant Feeding Mites"

2007, March, 11^th-14^th: Jerusalem, Israel, 1^st Meeting IOBC/WPRS Study Group "Integrated Control of Plant Feeding Mites"

2007, November: the Study Group becomes an IOBC Work Group (Convenor Eric Palevsky)

2008, January: First Announcement of the 2^nd Meeting

2008, July/August: website running and Second Circular of the Meeting placed on the web

2008, December: News concerning contributions to the Meeting.

2009, February 1^st : The meeting contributions are downloadable from the website for the registered participants.
