Baccio Baccetti “REDIA, a century of life”. ...Berlese instead, was thiking of large reviews and important physiological and applied topics. Thus, Redia was born. The first issue appeared in 1903, whit the unusual heading:
“REDIA”
The last part of the volume was printed in 1904 in Florence . On the fourth cover page there appeared “....Redia journal of Entomology, pubblisched by the Royal Station of Agricultural Entomology of Florence, Via Romana, 19, Mariano Ricci printer,Via San Gallo, 31, Florence”. The fourth cover page also included the statement “...the journal Redia is designed to accept original papers (also From Entomologists out of the Station ) on Arthropods dealing with Anatomy, Biology, Systematics, Economic Entomology, etc. It will be made up yearly of one volume with at least 24 print leaves and tables needful to a good understanding of papers." One century later, by issuing Volume LXXXVI REDIA, after accepting scientific papers of entomologists, acarologists and nematologists from all the world, prepares for a new challenge "...by breathing again a new air of a Further adventure which in the research is always full of enthusiasm." .
